Champion Dual Fuel Generator Unboxing, Assembly & Testing #unboxing #unboxingvideo #generator
In this video I unbox, assemble and test a Champion 7850 dual Fuel Generator I bought at Home Depot. We wanted more emergency generator capacity on the farm before hurricane season gets into high gear. Was it easy to assemble? Does it start easy? Will it run an air conditioner? Watch and see. Mike, we bought a portable Craftsman (I think) generator new that ran on gasoline. After a few years we got a conversion kit that allows it to run on *either* gasoline or LP gas. The propane doesn't seem to go bad if stored for a long time like gasoline does. The next time our power goes out for an expected extended time, we'll use up our on-hand gasoline, then switch the generator to LP gas. Seeing you start up your new generator reminded me to go do the same with ours, including ensuring that the pneumatic tires are still properly inflated. (We can't use the hard wheels in our yard, so we have to keep the pneumatic ones.)

Most likely first required and invented for California due to their extremes when it comes to emissions controls. Probably leads to more spills and emissions. What you did is what we do here in California. It's illegal, but we'll take our chances.

The reason why these gas cans are the way they are iis because the people that are designing them don't actually use them theyare Generation Z dimwits that don't actually do work they sit at a computer and design it and make exorbitant amounts of money for it some dimwit was pouring gasoline out of a normal can dropped it the gas continue to pour out all over the place as it lay on its side and some CAD designer thought I can fix that and there you have it just ordered mine hurry 1 left

Palladium nitrate is an orange chemical. Add some HCl to drop out the silver. Then I usually use ammonia to make a sparingly soluble complex of PdCl2(NH2)2 it is a pale yellow salt. It helps to distill off excess nitric acid to make the chemistry more efficient.

Excellent result, I am glad the formic reduction worked well! I am surprised the copper cementation went so badly though, classic case of practical chem. behaviour not obeying the theoretical behaviour. Thats a surprising yield, I am very curious to what this material is from, do update us if you find out! I have found that boiling is an excellent way to agglomerate small particles of most metals, the Pd has a decent purity to have done that! I would say an additional boil in 10% dilute sulfuric should increase purity and assist in agglomeration of particles. Also, the formic reduction would have been faster in a concentrated solution, so for larger batches I would suggest: after initial extraction drop everything on zinc or aluminium; wash Zn/Al out with a dilute HCl boil; redissolve in nitric or AR so the Pd is concentrated; formic reduction and same process with additional dilute sulfuric boil. This should be faster and more efficient. Excited to see where you go with this next, keep up the good work.

You could just cement base metals with pgm if you need to. It is so much easier to separate finely divided metals than an alloy or even plating. Just boil in an acid after that your desired pgm isn't soluble in. All those finely divided base metals should clean up easily.
